Crestwood is hosting LifeSouth Community Blood Drives Thursday and Friday, May 5th and 6th.

The drive will be held from 9am to 5pm both days at the Crestwood Conference Center in the Crestwood Medical Pavilion. (the building adjacent to visitors entrance of main hospital on south side)

Animal services collecting items for victims

Huntsville Animal Services and Decatur Animal Services are collecting dry dog, puppy, cat and kitten foods (Purina and Pedigree preferred) for shelters and rescue groups housing tornado pets, as well as tornado victims.

Blood donations needed

The Madison County Donor Center will reopen for whole blood donations beginning on Tuesday, May 3 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Madison County Donor Center is located at 1101 Washington Street in Huntsville.

The Madison County donor center will also be open according to the following schedule for the remainder of the week:

·   Wednesday, May 4: 11 a.m. - 6 p.m.
·   Thursday, May 5: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
·   Friday, May 6: 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.

The University of Alabama in Huntsville information

· The University of Alabama in Huntsville will remain closed as a result of the power outage on campus. The university will resume normal operations on Monday, May 9. All employees should report to work that day unless otherwise notified.

· Essential personnel should contact their supervisor on the decision to report to work this week.
