Sci-Quest is now registering for its Spring Break Camps, March 14th-18th and April 11th-15th. The camps offer kids ages kindergarten through eighth-grade an informal and hands-on learning experience in subjects like aviation, crime investigation and electronics.

Sci-Quest is offering new programs this year for students. Two of these new programs include "Crime Science Investigations" for third through fifth grades and "A Walk on the Wild Side" for sixth through eighth grades.

Latest fraud schemes and ID theft prevention

On Tuesday, March 8th, FBI special agent, Jonathan Sumner, will discuss fraud schemes and ID theft prevention.  The event will be held at the Old Redstone Federal Credit Union at 220 Wynn Drive from 11:30am until 1pm.

Agent Sumner will be discussing the lastest fraud schemes and identity theft prevention controls.

The Madison/Marshall County Chapter of the American Red Cross announces the opportunity for area organizations and companies to participate in their "One Campaign."

Mary Moreillon, Executive Director, says, "The Red Cross provides immediate assistance to our neighbors suddenly left homeless by single-family and apartment fires. Our Service to the Armed Forces program offers emergency assistance to soldiers and their families during times of personal crisis. The One Campaign raises awareness and funding to support these essential humanitarian services in Madison County."

Bridge Street Town Centre is adding stores, and developers say there will be something for everyone.

Doug Badia is the Executive Vice President of Operations for O&S Holdings, the developer for Bridge Street. Badia said that a combined Toys R Us and Babies R Us will be opening up near Sports Authority.

When Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey comes to town they mark their arrival with the animal walk.  The walk will take place Tuesday, March 1st at 10:30am at the Southern Railroad Depot at 330 Church Street.

Paul McDonald: Top 24 on American Idol contestant hails from Huntsville

The Rocket City is bursting at the seams with musical talent as evidenced by winner's of The Sing Off, Committed and now Paul McDonald, top 24 contestant on American Idol.

You may remember Paul McDonald as the musician who gave the Beatle's song "Blackbird" a quirky sound or for his colorful outfit.  Either way, this talented man has local connections.

The WEDC Foundation Scholarship Program provides financial assistance, mentors and professional development programs to women who are driven to become financally independent by getting a college education or technical training. 

Applicants must live in Madison, Marshall, Morgan, or Limestone counties of North Alabama, be currently enrolled in a post secondary program, be employed, and have a grade point standing of 2.5 or better.
