Panoply kicks off in Huntsville | Arts & Culture
The Arts Council’s Panoply Arts Festival opened to the public at 10:00 am on Saturday, April 27th. The arts festival offers a full line-up of music, dance, theatre, visual arts, and international programming. Panoply’s Saturday programming also features the Official Alabama State Fiddling Championship, and registration began at 10:00 am at its indoor venue at the Huntsville Area Association of Realtors at 535 Monroe Street in downtown Huntsville.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming children and adults to Panoply throughout the day,” said Arts Council Executive Director Allison Dillon-Jauken, “and while we anticipate spring showers at some point this afternoon, we have great entertainment for all ages in tents throughout the festival.”
Dillon-Jauken also announced, “The Official Alabama State Fiddling Championship – previously scheduled for the festival’s open-air stage at the Huntsville Museum of Art – has been moved to its alternate venue to accommodate our great fiddling talent at the festival.”
Panoply Saturday activities began at 10:00 am and conclude at 9:00 pm with fireworks presented by Delta Research.
Audiences and competitors for the Official Alabama State Fiddling Championship may purchase tickets from Panoply personnel on-site at the Huntsville Area Association of Realtors. Ticket booths at the festival site in downtown Huntsville’s Big Spring International Park opened at 10:00 am, and tickets are also available online now at www.artshuntsville.org.
Daily admission to Panoply is $5.00 and weekend festival passes are $10.00 for admission to activities all weekend. Children 10 and under are admitted free of charge.
