Panoply scheduling changes | Arts & Culture
The Arts Council has announced major changes to remaining Sunday Panoply Arts Festival programming due to today’s thunderstorms.
Originally scheduled to open at noon today, the festival was delayed as weather patterns continued to change. Advised by the National Weather Service, The Arts Council staff, volunteers, and board worked quickly to determine how to safely continue regularly scheduled activities once the weather moved through the area.
After these discussions, The Arts Council announces that the park is now ready to open at 3:30 p.m. with the following activities continuing until the originally scheduled closing time of 7:00 p.m. The Monroe Street side of the park will be open for the public to enjoy free of charge.
Showcase Stage performances:
4:45 – 5:15 p.m. The Bear & The Bride
6:00-7:00 p.m. Microwave Dave & the Nukes
Valley Jubilee Stage performances:
4:00 – 5:00 p.m. Committed
6:00 – 7:00 p.m. Panoply Festival Orchestra featuring Dr. Margery Whatley, Pianist
The Beer & Wine Garden, Art Marketplace, and food vendors will also be open.
Again, the Panoply Arts Festival will be open from 3:30 – 7:00 p.m., free to the public, with performances on the Showcase and Valley Jubilee Stages and artists exhibiting in the Art Marketplace. Fantastic food and drinks will be available for purchase from Panoply food vendors and Beer & Wine Garden. The Arts Council welcomes the public to come out to Big Spring Park to enjoy the final performances of Panoply 2013.]
