Annual Caribbean Day at the Park is approaching | Arts & Culture
The Caribbean Association of North Alabama (CANA) will be hosting the 8th Annual Caribbean Day at the Park on September 1.
This family-friendly event will introduce Americans to the Caribbean culture, lifestyle and cuisine. The free event will be at Stoner Field Park, which is located at 3715 Bragg Street, off of Stringfield Road in Huntsville and will last from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
This year’s Caribbean Day will feature the Army Material Command Band, Moko Jumbie (Tall Man), miniature soccer tournaments, and a cultural Olympics of sorts for kids and adults.
Attendees will be immersed in the culture of the Caribbean. Ethnic cuisine will be available from local restaurants like Island Soul and Mangos, including treats like jerk beef ribs, jerk chicken, brown stew, and curried chicken.
People will be coming from as far as Georgia and Tennessee, and the party will last into the night.
