Prescription drug take back event a success | Community Spirit
The Huntsville Police Department disposed of hundreds of pounds of unwanted prescription medication during Oct. 12’s Prescription Drug Take Back event.
Dr. Harry Hobbs of the Huntsville Police Department reported that Huntsville police turned in 340 pounds of prescription medication, Madison police turned in 520 pounds and Madison County Sheriff’s deputies turned in 140 pounds.
This anonymous program allowed citizens to drop off unused, unlabeled medications for safe disposal. This program was presented in conjunction with the Partnership for a Drug-Free Community.
