Huntsville woman arrested for stabbing ex-boyfriend | Crime

A stabbing happened early Sunday morning in North East Huntsville.

Police say 23-year-old Shellye Briggs stabbed her ex-boyfriend, 21-year-old William Payton.

According to police, Briggs arrived at Payton’s house at 1603 Humes Avenue. They got in an argument and Briggs assaulted Payton with a small tool.

Police arrived on the scene around 2:00 a.m. Payton was taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

He was released from the hospital one hour and 45 minutes later. Briggs was arrested at the scene.

She was charged with second degree Felony Domestic Violence Assault.
