Man sentenced for posing as a U.S. marshal

An Indianapolis man has been convicted for posing as a U.S. marshal in Huntsville.

Virgil Jermaine Coleman has been sentenced to four years for illegal possession of a firearm and impersonating a U.S. marshal.

Coleman plead guilty to the charges in October.

Coleman was arrested in August in connection to a string of crimes against Huntsville residents that included extorting drugs and money by posing as a marshal.

Three different occasions occurred from May 6, 2011 to June 4, 2011.
