Huntsville to add new shuttle routes | News
HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF)- Big changes are on the way for the City of Huntsville's public transit system.
In less than two weeks, new routes and new hours of operation will be offered to improve service and shorten travel times.
The changes will eliminate less traveled lines, add a second bus to the southwest Huntsville and University Drive/Madison Square Mall routes, as well as increase operation hours in certain areas.
Some routes will start as early as 5 a.m. and run until 7 p.m.
Perhaps the biggest change is that all buses will come to the downtown shuttle transfer station before continuing on to their final destination.
The city is undergoing $52,000 in modifications to accommodate the changes.
The changes will go into effect November 19.
The city will hold a public forum November 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Shuttle Transfer Station to discuss the changes.
