HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF)- Huntsville Police responded to a shooting call just before 11 p.m. Tuesday night.
They found 31-year-old Pedro Love in a driveway in the 300 block of Mastin Lake Way. Officials said he had suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the chest.
HEMSI took him to Huntsville Hospital, where he died.
A clerk who worked at a nearby gas station said he saw a man standing by a white vehicle fire three shots and leave.
The shooting has people who live off the road on high alert. One neighbor, who wanted to keep her identity hidden, told us she heard the shot.
"I told my daughter that something is going on here," she said. "I saw a squad car and we saw all of the lights and I knew something was going on, but I didn't know exactly what was happening."
She said the shooting happening not far from where she lives causes concern and she hopes the gunman doesn't return.
Police retrieved a gun that was about 12 feet away from the man who was fatally injured.
They believe the shooter headed west on Sparkman Drive.
No arrests have been made in the case.
If you have any information that could help, call Huntsville Police.
Family members have set up a Pedro Love account at Redstone Federal Credit Union to pay for funeral expenses. Donations can be made at any location.
