Amy Bishop-Anderson planning to appeal conviction | News

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF)- Amy Bishop-Anderson, the woman convicted for the murders of three people and injuring three others at the University of Alabama in Huntsville in 2010, plans to appeal at least one of her convictions.

It's unclear at this time what conviction Bishop-Anderson is planning to appeal, but court-appointed attorney Ronald Smith plans to meet with his new client at Tutwiler Prison next week.

Smith is currently involved in another capital murder case, too.

The Huntsville attorney said he hasn't received any of the records or transcripts from Bishop-Anderson's original court hearings or conviction.

Bishop-Anderson shot six UAHuntsville professors during a faculty meeting two years ago, of which three of the victims died.

She later pleaded guilty to all of the charges, ultimately avoiding the death penalty.
