MADISON COUNTY, AL (WAFF)- Two Valley cities are reaping the benefits from a stretch of highway that's getting a bundle of businesses. Highway 72 is an area that is always growing, and Madison and Huntsville mayors said they want to keep it that way.
"There's just been a big growth in terms of the number of businesses that have been springing up in the Huntsville Madison area," said Madison County resident John Moore. "There are grocery stores, department stores, food chains and restaurants. It's been a big improvement within the last few years."
An improvement that Madison Mayor Troy Trulock said is exciting because it gives people options and draws more people to the area.
"There are great new places for our residents to shop and for those transiting through from different cities are coming through," said Trulock.
